New Moon in Virgo

As I sit and write this we are approaching the release of the Leo energy and moving into Virgo. There are still a couple of days left in Leo, but already I can feel the shift. It’s subtle yet, but definitely there. It feels more responsible, somehow, more serious. No wonder most people here in Canada plan their summer vacation for the last two weeks of July and the first two of August – catching that Leo fun-loving energy. but now, we’re heading into Virgo, a time of taking stock, accounting, cleaning up the details. the kids go back to school and we settle back into our regular routines – bringing order out of summer chaos. Back in Aries (March 21) we set our goal – dreamed our dream. In Taurus we grounded it, allowing it to take root and grow. In Gemini, we told the world – this is

New Moon in Leo

Does anyone else feel as thought they blinked and July was gone? I turned around one, it seems, and here we are at New Moon in Leo (Saturday the 30th of July). This month we have two new moons, one at the beginning and one at the end. Leo is the sign of the lion. The lion knows how to be a leader in the hunt for food. But it also knows when to lie down and play with the kids. In the northern hemisphere, Leo fall in our summer, the time we generally take for vacation and relaxation. In the southern hemisphere, tit falls in the winter, the time of going within. For all of us, this is a time of re-membering, re-sourcing, recuperating and replenishing ( the “r’s” from Gaia Speaks by Pepper Lewis). Everything is moving so quickly now, we are being bombarded by so much information

New Moon in Cancer

I feel as though last New Moon was eons ago, or perhaps it was just yesterday, but here we are again. This is another energy packed New Moon-in Cancer-with a Solar Eclipse on Friday July 1st. Eclipses tend to amplify, and to bring abrupt change, so be ready. Cancer is a water sign, and so it has a lot to do with emotions, how we feel. This is an excellent time to practice awareness of how we feel in different situations, in different places, with different people. Do we feel safe, nurtured, challenged, do we feel as though we belong, do we feel good or uncomfortable? How do we feel when we are hungry, or when we have eaten something that has truly nourished our body? Our feelings are our guidance system, and being able to read them and then to trust them is becoming more important every day.

New Moon in Gemini

We have entered the sign of Gemini, and this New Moon in Gemini is upon us. This Wednesday June 1st is New Moon and also a Solar Eclipse in Gemini, so hold on to your hats. Eclipses tend to bring change very quickly, suddenly, abruptly in fact, and we have three Eclipses coming up in a very short time. Full Moon in Gemini/Sagittarius on the 15th is a Lunar Eclipse, and New Moon in Cancer on July 1st is a Solar Eclipse. We have been in the vibration of the first eclipse for days now, and it will get more intense. We are going to experience very rapid change in the next six months, so be prepared. Do your yoga, Tai Chi, breathing exercises, and let it flow through you. Gemini is known as the Twins. You can see them in the sky – two stars close together. They

Taurus New Moon

We are now in the sign of Taurus, The Bull, and New Moon is just days away (Tuesday the 3rd of May). Aries has somewhat passed the torch to Taurus, although it is still influencing, according to Kathy Rose (http://bit.ly/jlfqGt) I enjoy listening to her talks on the New Moon energy each month. Aries is the energy that catapults us forward, gets us excited and inspired with new ventures. Since there are still some planets in Aries, we still have some of that inspiring energy to boost us. Mix that with the energy of Taurus, the earthy, step by step energy, we just might create great things this month. When I started to re-investigate Taurus this month, the first thing I saw was that Taurus rules money and independence. For those of you who know me, you’ll understand that my mind went straight to ABBA’s Money, Money, Money. Here’s the

Ramblings

I just listened to a song on the radio whose sentiment has inspired me, and I thought I would pass it along. I listen to country music when I cook or clean; the rhythms keep me moving and I lose myself in the music. This morning I was cooking and this one came on. It’s titled Live Like You Were Dying, by Tim McGraw. (http://bit.ly/r9v8qv). In the song, he says he wishes everyone could experience living as though they were dying. They would truly enjoy life, take chances/risks, feel love more deeply. This is an experience I’m incorporating into my life. Last year, a friend of mine passed away at a very young age. While thinking about her one day I asked myself what I would regret not having done if I were to pass away suddenly. I was surprised at the response I got; there were a couple
