I feel as though last New Moon was eons ago, or perhaps it was just yesterday, but here we are again. This is another energy packed New Moon-in Cancer-with a Solar Eclipse on Friday July 1st. Eclipses tend to amplify, and to bring abrupt change, so be ready.
Cancer is a water sign, and so it has a lot to do with emotions, how we feel. This is an excellent time to practice awareness of how we feel in different situations, in different places, with different people. Do we feel safe, nurtured, challenged, do we feel as though we belong, do we feel good or uncomfortable? How do we feel when we are hungry, or when we have eaten something that has truly nourished our body?
Our feelings are our guidance system, and being able to read them and then to trust them is becoming more important every day. We are bombarded with so many things, so many choices every minute of the day, we need this guidance system to keep us on a path that is appropriate for us. Our path will not be the same as the next persons, and so we need to trust our gut and feel safe and secure enough within ourselves to make our own choices.
And so, you may have guessed that Cancer rules having a firm foundation, both internally and externally (home and family), following gut instincts, feeling safe and secure, being aware of feelings and needs.
Cancer also rules nurturing. If you were nurtured as a child, you are more likely to have a strong foundation to build your life on. Food is part of nurturing, and so we may use it as a substitute for other kinds of nurturing, to fill a void, or as a way to nurture.
Being nurtured teaches us how to nurture, being cared for teaches us how to care for. Many of us will be looking after children, or aging parents; some of us may be the aging parents. If we are, allowing ourselves to be cared for may be difficult after a lifetime of being the caregiver. Some of us have difficulty allowing ourselves to be cared for at any age. Just remember how good the other person feels being able to support and nurture you in return.
Physically, Cancer rules the chest and breast, pancreas, stomach and stomach gas, ulcers and tumours. So, remember to breathe deeply, eat foods that nourish you, and be gentle with yourself.
If you are setting intent this month, here are some examples:
I am enjoying eating food that truly nourishes me, and feeling when I am full.
I am creating and nurturing good relations with my family.
I am using every opportunity to get in touch with my feelings and follow my instincts.
I am becoming aware of early childhood patterns and clearing those that are non-beneficial.
I am allowing the people close to me to nurture and support me.
