We have entered the sign of Gemini, and this New Moon in Gemini is upon us. This Wednesday June 1st is New Moon and also a Solar Eclipse in Gemini, so hold on to your hats. Eclipses tend to bring change very quickly, suddenly, abruptly in fact, and we have three Eclipses coming up in a very short time. Full Moon in Gemini/Sagittarius on the 15th is a Lunar Eclipse, and New Moon in Cancer on July 1st is a Solar Eclipse. We have been in the vibration of the first eclipse for days now, and it will get more intense. We are going to experience very rapid change in the next six months, so be prepared. Do your yoga, Tai Chi, breathing exercises, and let it flow through you.
Gemini is known as the Twins. You can see them in the sky – two stars close together. They represent polarity in our lives and beliefs. In each of the areas ruled by Gemini, things can go either way (as in everything, but Gemini makes us aware of this). Also, Gemini is an Air sign. Tornadoes anyone?
Gemini rules motion and activity. That can mean anything from being overly excited, taking a short trip, your car or bike (i.e. transportation – pray for the subway system), and having restless energy. If you look at the duality of transportation, for example, the TTC is bringing in new subway cars in June – possibly in Gemini, so we may experience delays and breakdowns more frequently or transportation in Toronto just might get better. Just the same, this may be a good time to increase meditation and yoga, practice deep breathing, keep your emotions on the level and your transportation options open. Then, maintain this for the rest of the year; make a habit of it. It will stand you in good stead.
Gemini also rules communication. Mercury is the planet connected with Gemini. He is a messenger of the gods in Roman mythology, often seen flitting erratically from place to place, hence the term mercurial. Thus, Gemini has the task of communicating, of delivering messages, imparting information, writing and speaking. Looking at the polarity of this, do we need to improve our speech or writing, do we need to communicate more, or do we need to stop talking and listen, and by listening, understand.
With this duality, comes an awareness of options. My rising sign is Gemini, and I think that is why I am so attracted to the Learning Path Integrated Technique. It helps you to become aware of your options – instead of always reacting the same way. However, having options may also lead to indecision and nervousness, so gather up your courage and decide what to do. Ask questions, but don’t question incessantly. Take a deep breath and decide.
This is a great time to introduce some variety into your life. Add some different foods, invite some different people into your life, take a short trip to somewhere you’ve never been. Enjoy the moment, accept the new, be sociable (forget that you’re shy for a few moments), but take your tact along. Gemini/Sagittarius are notorious for their lack of tact.
Gemini also rules relationships with those close to you such as brothers, sisters, neighbours, roommates. Employ understanding, tact, think on your feet, communicate, communicate, communicate! At the same time, expect wonderful relationships and all good things.
Physically, Gemini rules hayfever (it’s that time of the year), arms wrists and hands, lungs and breathing, and the nervous system.
If you are setting intent for the lunar month, here are some samples:
I am carefully listening and thinking before I speak or make a decision.
I am communicating what I am feeling to those who need to understand.
I am socializing with others in spite of my fear.
I am making decisions and moving forward with the actions necessary to carry them out.
I am acting more decisively and with confidence.
Have a great month. Be flexible, weigh your options, make a decision and move on.
