  Friday August 14 is New Moon in Leo. Last New Moon cycle, in watery Cancer, we pulled in a bit, focused on home, family, emotions. It was an intense month, with two powerful Full Moons. This cycle we’re in a fire sign that is focused more outward. This is a sign of having fun, getting people together to celebrate or just enjoy. Even though this is a fun-loving sign, it is the last month before school starts, before vacations traditionally end and we focus again on the regular work schedule. It’s a sign that deals with the home front, home and hearth, the Mother energy, the basis for our growth and ability to cope. Home and family often give us our biggest challenges and our biggest opportunities for growth. That is where we can belong, be accepted for who we are – or not. So this is a time for us to pull back, to go inward, to discover ourselves at a deeper level, to ground into who we are more deeply, to understand who we are more deeply, with reference to where we came from and where we are now. Gemini is the sign of the twins. It’s an Air sign, so its main function is on the mental plane. Geminis tend to be very clever, very curious, and very social beings. Since Geminis tend to live in their heads, they can be ungrounded; so let’s take a moment to ground ourselves. Take a deep breath and let it out slowly. Now, become aware of your feet, the bottoms of your feet. Stamp them on the ground a couple of times, then imagine roots coming down your legs, through your feet and into the ground. Take another deep breath in and exhale it through your feet into the earth. Now, does that feel different? Gemini is ruled by Mercury, that fast moving (Mercurial) Messenger to the Gods and prime communicator. From this we can deduce that Gemini rules communication of all kinds, and that clear, truthful, tactful and timely communication

Taurus is the sign of the bull. It’s an earth sign – very grounded in the physical. This particular New Moon in Taurus brings us the opportunity to clear more, to understand where we need to create more balance and harmony in out lives and help us to understand how to bring that in. Taurus people are very tactile, very physical. They love money for what it can provide – the sights, the sounds, the smells, luxurious things to touch. So perhaps, it’s time to indulge yourself a little after a long cold winter. Take some patio time, go for a walk in nature, buy a new scent for yourself or someone you love. Or, perhaps, you indulge yourself too much, and need to get focused on the business at hand and take care of the money. Either way, this New Moon is an excellent time to take a look.

New Moon in Aries is Saturday April 18, 2015. This is a time of new beginnings. In our gardens we see new shoots bursting through the earth, we wake to the sound of birds greeting the new day, the new opportunity to create. Welcome to the second New Moon in Pisces. Last New Moon we talked about going within, getting to know ourselves better before we set our goals and intent for the new cycle of the Zodiac. Now, let’s take a closer look at what else Pisces has to offer. Pisces is a time for us to develop spiritually. Using meditation and yoga, tai chi etc. we can bring ourselves to a point of healing and spiritual awareness. In our quiet time we learn to ask the angels for assistance, and to trust that it will be given. During Pisces we are supported in gaining awareness of the subtle energies that surround us. It’s a time when imagination can be stimulated easily. Imagination is very important in creation, for if you cannot imagine something how can you create it? This is something we will be working on in the Guided Meditation class
