New Beginnings – New Moon in Aries 2013

Wednesday April 10, 2013 is New Moon in Aries. Aries is a fire sign, a sign of passion, of new beginnings. At the Spring Equinox, we set our intent for this new year. Are you seeing anything sprouting? There are some new green shoots appearing in my front garden.

Aries represents the warrior energy. It is exactly the energy that is needed for new growth to break through the seed pod and push through the earth. It’s the same for us. We need that warrior energy, that courage and fortitude to bring forth to light our new ideas, new projects, new ways of being. We need that passion and fire to keep us on track and moving forward.

This has been a dark and difficult winter for many. Not only has the weather been unsettling, but we were asked to face, to realize, those areas of our lives that weren’t working. We were compelled to witness the anger, fear and shame that we had deeply buried.

Now we are being given a time to move into light, to bring to light our gift, to move into the person we know we are. We have discovered more of our authentic selves.

And so, we blaze new trails, we discover new ways of doing things, and we move forward as our authentic selves. We stand firm, trust our instincts. We have learned to be honest with ourselves, and now we bring that into our dealings with others.

Aries is a very independent sign. It moves us to believe in being able to do things on our own, to be self-sufficient, to rely only on ourselves. This can alienate others and cause us to be unaware of our effect on others. This is something to be aware of in this journey through Aries. Our creations need to be for the highest and best good of all concerned, not just ourselves. And, we often need help, whether we want it or not. It’s time to let the barriers down and let others in.

Physically, Aries rules acne, eyes, head, face, scalp and brain. It also rules headaches and dizziness.

If you are setting intent for this month, here are some samples:

  • I am asking for the courage and strength to act with authenticity as I bring forward my ideas and new ways of being.
  • I am asking to be aware of including others where appropriate in my plans, and to make sure that what I do is for the highest and best good of all concerned.
  • I am asking to feel safe and supported in my ventures, as I take some risk to help me move forward.

Enjoy this energy of renewal.

Manifesting Joy

I looked over my notes for the Full Moon past, to see if there was anything that would indicate why so many people, including me, are “under the weather” right now. The only thing I found was Greg Scott talking about the mid-heaven in Scorpio bringing anything that is not yet healed to the surface. So, if you are not feeling well right now, is the situation showing you anything that is not yet healed? For me it was easy to figure out. Even with the flu, covid, a cold, whatever it is I am entertaining right now, I

I thought I Was totally Screwed

For a long time, I thought I was totally screwed. You may have guessed that my sun sign is Sagittarius – the symbol of which is a bare-chested strange looking guy with a bow and arrow, four legs and the back end of a horse. It’s a fire sign. What you probably don’t know, is that my rising sign is Gemini -the twins – double trouble. Gemini is an air sign and its symbol looks like a doorway to who knows where. Air ignites fire. Neither sign struck me as being particularly grounded, so I spent a lot of
