I was outside a few moments ago and noticed the moon, just as it came over the horizon (7:15pm). It is HUGE. And so bright.
This is the Full Moon that is called the Hunter’s Moon. It is the earliest of the full moons to rise, so that it could illuminate the night for the hunters. It would be the last big hunt to put food away for the winter, and the moon co-operated by rising earlier than usual and being very bright. Tonight, it is also a super moon. It is the third in a row, I believe, and the closest to earth, which makes it super-bright.
The Aries Full Moon was actually full at 7:26 this morning, but it still looks glorious. It’s a great night for Moon Bathing, standing under the moon and absorbing its energy.
Full Moons symbolize endings – finishing with a project or letting something go. This Moon is at 26 degrees of Aries, near the end, so I’m guessing there could be some urgency.
This is a very energetic time – lots of emotions floating around – anger, frustration, tears. I experienced it myself today on my what was supposed to be a quick shopping trip. Frustration because the store had only half of the things on my list in stock, then waiting 15 minutes for a bus to arrive at the station (others had been waiting up to 45 minutes) then getting on the bus and waiting another 15 minutes while it decided whether it wanted to be the 91 or the 93. Lots of emotions spilling out on that bus.
That is just an example of the breaking down of structure that we are going through and how we are reacting to it. These can be challenging times in many ways, and what will keep us sane is how we deal with those challenges. This is part of our stepping into our personal power – learning to respond rather than react. Reacting is easy. Taking the time – the pause – to decide how you want to respond takes more effort. Do you want to be one of the gripers on the bus, or do you want to put that time to better use. Practice your deep breathing, close your eyes and envision where you would like to be. You might also give the gift of doing an energy clearing on the bus and the people in it so they all go home feeling a bit better! The bus driver could probably use a bit of reiki to counteract all the frustrated vibes going his way. There is so much you could do.
So, what are some activities you can put on your “instead of list”?
- Do a short meditation
- Practice your breathing techniques
- Engage the person next to you in conversation. Help them to feel better
- Practice your healing techniques
- Focus light
- Hum
- Listen to music
- Dance if you can (even just in your imagination)
- Breathe
- Bring a smile to your face
- Understand that nothing lasts forever (even the good stuff – so take advantage of it)
- Actively listen to people
- Did I say Breathe?
- Take time for yourself, do what pleases you for an hour or whatever time you have
There are probably many other things you can do to keep yourself in balance. I’d love to hear how you do it.
Enjoy this Full Moon. If things come up to be released, acknowledge them, then bless them and send them on their way to be transformed. I find acknowledgment to be a big piece of the puzzle. Everything and every one, wants to be seen for what it is, and this glorious Full Moon is helping us to do that.
Shine your light!
