Being Prepared – New Moon in Virgo 2015

IMG_20141111_142806It is perfect that back to school time takes place in Virgo. This sign says “pay attention to the details”.

You know the saying “don’t sweat the small stuff, and it’s all small stuff”? Well, Virgo would say “if you sweat the small stuff, you won’t have to sweat the big stuff”. You’re prepared. The person who first said “Measure twice, cut once”, must have been a Virgo.

Going back to school means getting organized – for students, parents and teachers. Do we have the supplies we need, the clothes we need? Did we choose the right courses? We are starting over – it’s a new beginning. Are we prepared?

For the rest of us this “new beginning energy” has carried over from our school years. Play time (summer) is over, and it’s time to settle down again and get organized. For those of us in business, this brings in the “fourth quarter”. It is the last opportunity to accomplish what we wanted to, what we said we would, in this year. So, we will be looking back over the year, becoming introspective, evaluating what we have done and still want to do. We’ll check the details. Are we on track?

So, what can we do to accomodate this side of the Virgo energy in our lives? Here are some ideas:

  • sort out your diet and exercise programs, get a new routine going. Make an effort to continue those lovely green salads, fresh fruits and vegetables and juices into the rest of the year. Start checking out interesting soup recipes.
  • Organize the work spaces in your home – the kitchen, the home office – so what you need is at your finger tips.
  • Organize your fall wardrobe, getting any dry cleaning and mending done so you’re good to go.
  • Review your finances, balance your cheque book. Can you put any more into savings?
  • If you own your home, arrange to have the furnace and air conditioner cleaned and checked.

That’s the outer work. Now for the inner work:

  • Have you grown? Dig out your goals and intent from the New Year. How are you doing? Make a list of what you’ve accomplished. Did you work through that fear? Did you take that next step? Did you share love? Take time to sit with your accomplishments. Congratulate yourself.
  • Then, call a friend and congratulate them on everything they have accomplished, on how they have grown. You may even see something they haven’t.
  • Next, take a look at what you still have to accomplish, what you still want to bring into your life this year. Sit with the list and consider “ What do I need to do , allow, receive, in order for this to happen? And is it still appropriate?
  • Once you’re clear about your own process, call a friend and offer a sounding board, an ear (to listen) or a piece of wisdom, if appropriate. Share your experience. Virgos love to be of humble service.

Once you’ve taken care of the details, you won’t have to worry about the days to come. You’re prepared. Take a deep breath and smile.

Manifesting Joy

I looked over my notes for the Full Moon past, to see if there was anything that would indicate why so many people, including me, are “under the weather” right now. The only thing I found was Greg Scott talking about the mid-heaven in Scorpio bringing anything that is not yet healed to the surface. So, if you are not feeling well right now, is the situation showing you anything that is not yet healed? For me it was easy to figure out. Even with the flu, covid, a cold, whatever it is I am entertaining right now, I

I thought I Was totally Screwed

For a long time, I thought I was totally screwed. You may have guessed that my sun sign is Sagittarius – the symbol of which is a bare-chested strange looking guy with a bow and arrow, four legs and the back end of a horse. It’s a fire sign. What you probably don’t know, is that my rising sign is Gemini -the twins – double trouble. Gemini is an air sign and its symbol looks like a doorway to who knows where. Air ignites fire. Neither sign struck me as being particularly grounded, so I spent a lot of
