Scorpio is a fixed water sign. Water is the element of emotions, and being in a fixed sign, those emotions will crystallize and form our way of reacting, our way of being.
This is a sign that pulls us into the depths, to find all the things we’ve hidden, even from ourselves. Once a year, the sun shines in Scorpio, blessing us with the ability to see what we have drowned in the waters, holding it down so it can’t hurt us.
It’s no surprise that Scorpio rules power. How powerful is it to release what we’ve been holding onto, and to almost force others to transform as well. That is their gift to us. This year, it is an especially important gift, with the Partial Solar Eclipse assisting us to transform and vision the new.
Scorpios can almost see right through you; they know your needs and motives almost before you do. You can keep no secrets from them. They, on the other hand, can be very secretive. They guard their privacy with passion.
Scorpios are very much sexual beings. They ooze charisma, and enjoy deep emotional bonds. A relationship with a Scorpio can be intense, but also transformative. They can be a little obsessive/compulsive, due in part to their intensity, but they are loyal almost to a fault.
When Scorpios channel their dark side, they can be vengeful, unforgiving, suspicious and harsh in their judgments. These are the qualities that need to be transformed by them.
A Scorpio who is working on self-mastery, though, has great strength, focus, discipline and commitment – qualities that stand ua all in good stead.
Physically, it’s no surprise that Scorpio rules the organs of elimination – letting go. It also rules the sexual organs.
If you are planning to set intent this new Moon, here are some samples:
- I am asking to let go of belief systems that are holding me back, in the most benevolent manner.
- I am asking to develop commitment to my path of growth.
- I am asking to see clearly what needs to be released now, so that I may move forward in joy.
