New Moon in Cancer 2014 – Going with the Flow

New Moon in Cancer 2014 is this Friday June 27. Cancer is a water sign – the sign of the crab. As a OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAwater sign it deals with emotions, feelings. This Mercury Retrograde (which is officially over on July 2nd), has moved from Cancer back to Gemini, then forward again to Cancer. It has given the perfect opportunity to experience how we feel about our lives, about where we are in life and where we want to be in the near future. I know I’ve been doing a lot of that, as have a lot of other people I’ve been speaking to. It feels like a time of re-inventing ourselves – a little closer to whom we really want to be.

Cancer is ruled by the moon. It is a sign of nurturing, as the moon nurtures us. This is a time to nurture that being we are blossoming into and the life we are creating.

Home and family are very important to people born under the sign of Cancer. Pay attention to your family and close friends, and give your home a bit of tender loving care. A lot of people in my neighbourhood have been out painting and cleaning, doing some gardening and enjoying the freedom to open the windows and breathe some fresh summer air. They are getting out and having barbeques, playing their guitars and having long chats with their neighbours. In Ontario Canada, we are coming out of hibernation.

Taking care of our homes and those around us, gives us a feeling of being grounded; so having someone or someplace to care for can keep us stabilized, secure and feeling safe in the movement that is both water and the emotions.

Home is where we can be ourselves, where we can relax with whom we are. It’s a place to share and welcome. It’s a sanctuary from the craziness of the world.

The energy of Cancer also supports us in understanding our early childhood, and how what we learned then, either consciously, or unconsciously, affects us to this day. Understanding this gives us such freedom – the freedom to react differently and to make different choices. Understanding ourselves helps us to be more understanding of others.

Physically, Cancer rules the breasts, chest, stomach, ulcers and tumors.

If you are setting intent this New Moon, here are some samples:

  • I am asking to be more understanding of myself and others.
  • I am asking to feel safe and secure in my home and family relationships
  • I am asking to grounded in myself as life flows and takes me with it.

And We Begin – Clearing

Over time, we collect heavy, stagnant or negative energy in our body, mind and environment. We hold on to emotions, thoughts, beliefs – some of which aren’t even ours. That energy can make us feel sluggish, tired. We can feel overwhelmed, anxious, angry, lose motivation, lose clarity and may even gain weight. Ouch. When we let these go, we create space: space for clarity, calmness and focus. We bring more harmony and flow into our lives and it becomes easier to handle what life brings our way. Emotions, stress, other people’s vibes, even old memories, can let go. Clearing

Manifesting Joy

I looked over my notes for the Full Moon past, to see if there was anything that would indicate why so many people, including me, are “under the weather” right now. The only thing I found was Greg Scott talking about the mid-heaven in Scorpio bringing anything that is not yet healed to the surface. So, if you are not feeling well right now, is the situation showing you anything that is not yet healed? For me it was easy to figure out. Even with the flu, covid, a cold, whatever it is I am entertaining right now, I
