Phoenix Rising

We are in Scorpio season. Until the 21-23 of November, we have an expanded opportunity to work on all things Scorpio, an intense opportunity, as that is what Scorpio is – intense.

I’ve been surrounded by people of the Scorpio persuasion all of my life, so I’ve gotten to know at least the male side of Scorpio, very well. It’s the only sign of the zodiac I’m aware of (I’m sure there must be others, I just don’t know them as well) who have three levels of consciousness represented by three different animals.

The first is, of course, the scorpion, the animal that strikes before it thinks. The second is the snake, the transformation, the shedding of the skin. The third is the phoenix rising from the ashes. Scorpio asks you to look deeply into who you are, into your life, your belief systems. It asks you to die to what is no longer useful and to rise above it – creating something beautiful from the ashes.

This New Moon in Scorpio on November 1st, is asking us to make that journey into death and rebirth. It is asking us to take some quiet time and actually look, deeply, into ourselves.

Our Scorpio Journey

The first journey Scorpio asks us to take is a journey through fear. Is fear hiding in your consciousness, in your body? Has it crafted your belief systems to keep you safe?

Your mission is to ferret it out, understand it, why it exists in your life, and how you cover it up for survival. One of my fears was around not fitting in, not feeling a part of things. I covered it by feeling superior. I resolved it by realizing that I was the only one who didn’t think I fit in. No one else barred me from taking part in activities but myself. That realization made a huge difference in my life. Fear stopped ruling my social interactions.

The second journey Scorpio is asking us to take this New Moon and forward is to release control.

Scorpio loves to have control of everything. That way there are no surprises and nothing to fear. This New Moon we are asked to let go and trust that we will be taken care of. Trust the process.

We are going through massive change right now as a collective and individually. Our foundations are moving and shaking. The weather is so unpredictable. Here in Toronto, we don’t know what to wear day to day. In many other places, people don’t know where they’ll live or what they’ll eat day to day. It’s hard to trust that everything is as it needs to be and that all is right with the world, but that is how we will not only survive but thrive in these intense times.

Individually, we are where we need to be. If you don’t like where you are, ask: “why am I here and how can I move from here to someplace where I will be more comfortable.”

This is the time to ask the hard questions, and to be open to the answers. By doing this, we begin to take back our power. We have all given our power away for various reasons. We play the victim. It’s a great role, victimhood but it’s been overplayed and it’s time to move on being comfortable and steadfast in who we really are. It’s time to trust yourself and your guidance, and to know that when you need help it will be there.

This New Moon and for the rest of November take time to be quiet, to ask the questions, then listen for the answer. Personally, I have an alter where I sit to ask my questions. Then I wait for the answer. Sometimes it comes immediately, sometimes I read a passage in a book or listen to a song on the radio and the answer is there. I am open to receiving however it comes.

Some sample questions:

  • How do I work around being tired all the time?
  • What do I need to change in my life in order to be happy?
  • What direction is best for me to take in my career?

Then listen for the answer.

My intent is:

  • I am asking to clearly hear the answers to my questions
  • I am asking to be open to how the answers arrive
  • I am asking to listen to guidance in how to act on the answers I receive
  • I am asking assistance in acting on those answers

Enjoy this Scorpio season. Ask your questions. Find your answers. Be the snake and let go of your old skin. Rise like the Phoenix as a new you.

Manifesting Joy

I looked over my notes for the Full Moon past, to see if there was anything that would indicate why so many people, including me, are “under the weather” right now. The only thing I found was Greg Scott talking about the mid-heaven in Scorpio bringing anything that is not yet healed to the surface. So, if you are not feeling well right now, is the situation showing you anything that is not yet healed? For me it was easy to figure out. Even with the flu, covid, a cold, whatever it is I am entertaining right now, I

I thought I Was totally Screwed

For a long time, I thought I was totally screwed. You may have guessed that my sun sign is Sagittarius – the symbol of which is a bare-chested strange looking guy with a bow and arrow, four legs and the back end of a horse. It’s a fire sign. What you probably don’t know, is that my rising sign is Gemini -the twins – double trouble. Gemini is an air sign and its symbol looks like a doorway to who knows where. Air ignites fire. Neither sign struck me as being particularly grounded, so I spent a lot of
