As I sit and write this we are approaching the release of the Leo energy and moving into Virgo. There are still a couple of days left in Leo, but already I can feel the shift. It’s subtle yet, but definitely there. It feels more responsible, somehow, more serious. No wonder most people here in Canada plan their summer vacation for the last two weeks of July and the first two of August – catching that Leo fun-loving energy. but now, we’re heading into Virgo, a time of taking stock, accounting, cleaning up the details. the kids go back to school and we settle back into our regular routines – bringing order out of summer chaos.
Back in Aries (March 21) we set our goal – dreamed our dream. In Taurus we grounded it, allowing it to take root and grow. In Gemini, we told the world – this is my dream, my goal. We learned how to express it, how to share it. In leo, we celebrated it. Look what I’ve done! and we took a break.
Now, in Virgo, we go back and take a critical look at it. What needs to be tweaked? What isn’t clear? We go back to focusing, using discernment, trying to get as close to perfection as possible. That means planning, taking care of details, and making sure it all comes together properly.
In this striving for perfection, we need to be careful not to go overboard. By that, I mean it is easy to bring worry and stress into your life, to move into blame and judgment if things don’t go according to plan (and we all know the saying “we make plans and God- or the Universe -laughs”). Things just don’t always work out, so rolling with what the Universe offers, learning to be flexible, is probably for the highest and best good.
All this focus on details and striving for perfection can also make you uptight, so it makes sense that Virgo rules, digestion, constipation etc. Getting back to a regular exercise program and cooking good healthy meals will help.
So, to get the most from what the Virgo energy has to offer, keep some flexibility in your life, strive for perfection, but remember that it is a journey, not a destination, keep an eye on those details, because they can make or break an idea, and remember to bring forward from Leo some of the pleasures and things that made you laugh. Leo taught us great lessons on how to have fun. Let’s not forget them.
If you are setting intent for the New Moon, Monday August 29, here are some ideas:
- I am asking to find the right form of exercise for my body that fits into schedule.
- I am asking to recognize and release any need to be perfect, and just do the best that I can in the moment.
- I am asking to release all judgment and learn to accept responsibility for my actions.
- I an asking to be able to handle details with ease and create order in my life that can still be flexible.
