New Moon in Libra

Is anyone other than me feeling a heaviness, an intensity in the air? There seems to be a tension floating around, and my body is reacting (tense jaw, weepiness and not wanting to do anything). I know it’s not the weather influencing me, because I love days like this:  cool, damp, a bit rainy. It gives me the opportunity to put on my brightest yellow, my best smile and go cheer people up (I am a Sagittarius, after all).

Tomorrow, October 7th, is New Moon in Libra, and I’ve discovered that what is happening in the Heavens right now, and for times to come, are really influencing us. Part of this is the heaviness and tension that I am experiencing (if you want more info on this I highly recommend these sites: www.handclow2012.org and www.aquariuspapers.com.) The sign of Libra is symbolized by the scales, and so one of the most obvious things we are looking at this month is Balance in our lives. This year there are so many things happening in the sky, that balance is going to be essential.

September 22nd marked our entry into Fall (the Equinox – a time when lightness and darkness are equal) and our entry into Libra. Autumn is energetically a time to review what we have accomplished, created, or not, as the case may be, who we have become in the process, and what no longer serves us. With the New Moon, we have the opportunity to slow down, go within, to reflect on and discover what is working in our lives and what isn’t. When we release what no longer works, we create more balance.

So, what do we need to balance this month? That will be very individual, but here are some suggestions:

  • Time: are you balancing personal time and work time and relationship time? Are all of these receiving their due?
  • The inner and outer selves: are you being true to yourself, speaking your truth, do you know what your truth is, following your dreams, standing up for your beliefs, being open and honest      with yourself and others?
  • Male and female portions of yourself: are you taking time to nourish your soul – to rest, meditate (female). Are you following through on what you need or want to do?(male)
  • Relationships: are there things you need to do to bring relationships into balance with your spouse, family, friends, co-workers?
  • Financial: this is a great time to discover where you money is really going and create a budget to bring balance.
  • Community: Do you have a sense of community, do you feel part of a community? Is there a balance in what you give and receive in your community?

These are some examples of what you can look at over the next lunar cycle see what needs to change, and change. Working through some of these can lead to intense work, but it will be worth it in the long run. This New Moon is also sandwiched between two Full Moons in Aries. Last Full Moon was in Aries, and so is the one coming up. Aries is an action-oriented sign, the warrior, so take the opportunity to make some decisions about what you need to do, and follow through.

At Circle of One, we held our annual fundraiser for the Daily Bread Food Bank on Sunday the 3rd of October. We made $300 for the afternoon of Reiki by donation, to help them buy food for the families they support. This is one way for our community at the Circle to give back. If you have any other ideas, I’d love to hear them.

Manifesting Joy

I looked over my notes for the Full Moon past, to see if there was anything that would indicate why so many people, including me, are “under the weather” right now. The only thing I found was Greg Scott talking about the mid-heaven in Scorpio bringing anything that is not yet healed to the surface. So, if you are not feeling well right now, is the situation showing you anything that is not yet healed? For me it was easy to figure out. Even with the flu, covid, a cold, whatever it is I am entertaining right now, I

I thought I Was totally Screwed

For a long time, I thought I was totally screwed. You may have guessed that my sun sign is Sagittarius – the symbol of which is a bare-chested strange looking guy with a bow and arrow, four legs and the back end of a horse. It’s a fire sign. What you probably don’t know, is that my rising sign is Gemini -the twins – double trouble. Gemini is an air sign and its symbol looks like a doorway to who knows where. Air ignites fire. Neither sign struck me as being particularly grounded, so I spent a lot of
