For a long time, I thought I was totally screwed. You may have guessed that my sun sign is Sagittarius – the symbol of which is a bare-chested strange looking guy with a bow and arrow, four legs and the back end of a horse. It’s a fire sign. What you probably don’t know, is that my rising sign is Gemini -the twins – double trouble. Gemini is an air sign and its symbol looks like a doorway to who knows where. Air ignites fire.
Neither sign struck me as being particularly grounded, so I spent a lot of time learning how to ground. In fact, I told someone that I was a Sagittarius the other day and she said, “I was sure you were an earth sign!” I must have done a good job.
Over the last few years, I have investigated my astrology more deeply, and it has explained a lot about me. One thing I read was impactful. It said that Sagittarius looks to the big picture, while Gemini takes care of the everyday. The example given was Sag would dream up the next big adventure, in this case a journey, and Gemini would book the tickets, pack the bags, arrange transportation. Wow! I’ve gone from being totally screwed to being totally blessed.
On December 1st we had the New Moon in Sagittarius. We’re in Sag until the Solstice on the 21st of December, so there is lots of time left to vision the next adventure. Today, Sunday the 15th, we have Full Moon in Gemini, and a glorious moon it has been.
Gemini (the twins) allows us to look at both sides of a picture, or adventure. It brings us to decision making time. It gathers information, it communicates around the truth. This year, though, there are a lot of mutable (changeable, flexible) signs in prominent positions, so it is not yet time to make a firm decision. It’s more a waiting time, a pulling in, letting it settle time. Time to mull over some big questions, like:
- What do I want to experience next?
- Where do I want to be next?
- What is important to me? (Freedom is very important to Sag – how about you?).
- How can I overcome any obstacles that appear?
Let the light of the Full Moon illuminate the answers. Let Gemini bring messages, understandings and clarity around these questions.
We’ve been asked to do the inner work, go inside and ask these questions, for a few months now. This makes me wonder what is coming. I read somewhere in my journey that in the coming year, and moving forward, we will be re-inventing ourselves. What do you want to create? This is your biggest creation – who you are. It deserves some mulling time.
This is a very busy season for many. If you feel yourself going into overwhelm, take a moment, feel the stillness. Remember to breathe. Stop for a cup of tea, even if you don’t think you have time. Remember, we’re in Sagittarius, the sign of expansion. Everything is expandable, even time.
