We have entered the autumn season, which is all about reflecting on what we’ve created, who we’ve become, over the year so far. Some of those creations, attitudes, beliefs, behaviours, will feel right – they’ll fit – but some of them will not, and it’s time to let them go.
We are all on a journey to re-discover and embrace our authentic self – who we truly are at the core, and this New Moon is here to help us.
New Moon in Libra
Today is the New Moon in Libra. It falls at 13 degrees which I find such an interesting number – it’s the 12 plus the centre, the focus.
Libra is an Air sign, the sign of the scales – balance and weighing options. We have choices to make, and need to weigh them with care. Our choices are
- what to keep, it still serves me
- what to let go, it no longer serves me
Those choices will reflect who we are and who we want to be going forward. They reflect the balance we bring into our lives. Every time we release something that no longer serves us, we create space for new creations, new knowledge, new inspiration, and are able to hold more Light. Going into winter, the dream time, we need space to imagine what we could become, what we could create, over the next year, so this letting go period is important.
So, take some quiet time and ask to see what needs to go, what needs to stay. Burn some sage to create sacred space, light a candle, invite your guides and angels to be with you, then ask to be shown. It may not happen right then, but be watchful, listen, and you may be given guidance in the following days. That can be part of your intent for this New Moon:
- I am asking to be shown and to release what no longer serves me and needs to be released.
- I am asking to be shown what needs to stay and be fostered into greatness.
The Other
Libra is a sign of interaction with “the other”, mostly a one to one relationship. That relationship may be with a friend, business partner, life partner, your home, or yourself. This time, it seems to be with yourself.
Releasing Fear
The planet Venus has been taking a tour of Scorpio, an intense journey, and has invited us to look at and face our fears. She also suggests we look at where we have been keeping ourselves small because of someone else. (this is from Molly McCord. You can find her on You Tube.) So, check to see if fear or lack of confidence has crept in. If it no longer serves you, but holds you back, this is an opportunity to heal it and let it go.
One way you can do that is through your intent for this New Moon. Your intent might be:
- I am asking to bring forward trust and courage into my daily life and decision making. I invite courage and trust now.
Inviting and bringing in more trust and courage creates less space for fear.
Thoughts
Six out of ten zodiac signs are in Air signs at this New Moon. Air represents the Mental body, our thoughts, how we communicate with others. If “the other” in this case is ourself, how do we communicate with ourself? Do we say “please” and thank-you” or do we command? Do we put ourselves down, or build ourselves up?
Have you heard the saying “I am my own worst enemy”? This is one way we do it. We tear ourselves down, belittle ourself, criticize our behaviours. I invite you to take time this New Moon to listen to how you communicate with, how you motivate, yourself. And realizing that these ways of communicating may be fear based: fear of taking a chance or risk, fear of being your full potential, fear of change, may help the process.
What Keeps You in Balance?
From what I’ve read, October is a month when things start to move again. Any planets that have been retrograde are going direct this month. Someone I read called it a “hold onto your hats” month. So, remember those things that keep you in balance – get out in nature, exercise, watch your diet, get lots of sleep, do reiki or get a session. I’ve been doing a lot of Axiatonal Alignments on myself; they seem to be helping a lot.
So, be well. If you want to talk, you know where I am.
